I have the results of the last poll. (I didn't vote this time!) This time 9 people voted and that is 2 more than last time! Yay! So here goes:

and surprisingly none of you said friends.
That really says something about us as people. It's almost like the love from family is unconditional and never-ending so maybe people don't feel as bad lying to them about certain things because you know they will always be there for you. And strangers get lied to because you don't feel bad for being dishonest if you're never going to see them again.
Hmmm...interesting.

Oh and I have a question that I would like people to ruminate over:
Why do you think people lie? When is it ok to lie? Where does the need to lie stem from?

Facebook crazy
Today is going to be a little different from the other days. I just stayed home and slept in so nothing much has happened as of yet.
So because of the non-excitement I thought it might be nice to share my thoughts about some things. Particularly the popular social networking site bookface. Wait that's the line from the Office. No, but seriously I think the makers of the games on Facebook have overlooked some minor details.
Here's what I mean:
1) Farmville. Farmville is probably one of the most played game on Facebook. If you don't play it yourself (you little rebel) you know someone who does. If you do play it, you are either completely obsessed or have moved to the next step and adopted it as your knew religion. Either way you might have noticed or heard about a few puzzling dilemmas:
-Those mystery eggs are kind of ridiculous. Now that we have chicken coops we are able to look in them and find eggs or feed our friend's chickens to find them. But guess what? There is no mystery what so ever! If you are on Facebook by now you should know that chickens come from eggs. Nothing else is ever going to come out of there no matter how many times you check your chicken coop. White mystery eggs make white chickens, brown mystery eggs make brown chickens, gold mystery eggs make gold chickens. Mystery solved.
2)Fishville. I'm pretty sure it was made by the same people as Farmville. Maybe this is why there are some problems with this one too. Fishville is less popular, but still addicting if you are a lonely college kid unable to have pets of your own. As you might have guess in this game you have to feed fish that you buy and clean the tank and keep them happy. Not that hard, but there are a couple of things I question:
-Doesn't anyone else find it a little disturbing that if you kill off your fish you still get "experience points." You killed the thing! You shouldn't be encouraged to do it again. Thanks for trying you mass murderer, you'll do better next time. I don't think you should get a prize for an epic fail.
-Also, how do you "love" your fish. In the game you get money for giving your fish love and you get a trophy for doing it a certain number of times. Yes, you may say you love them, but how do you show them that? If it requires taking them out of the tank....I don't want to know about it.
3)Pretty much games in general. Facebook games are a real time-suck. Although I shouldn't harp on them too much. (If I'm really going to be honest here I must admit I too am an addict.) There are three things I hate about Facebook games:
-I hate that some games MAKE you invite friends if you want to move on in the game. If you're like me, you eventually run out of friend to invite. And when that happens you feel like a total schmuck because you don't have friends. At least that's what these games make you think.
-I hate that some games have coins, but the also have "cash." When you first start playing the game they give you an allotted amount of this "cash" and then you use it when necessary. What they don't tell you is eventually you will run out of said "cash" and the only way to get it back is to wait for eternity or buy it back with real straight-out-of-my-bank-account money. I dunno about you, but I don't like that idea one bit.
-I hate when the games have a section that shows who has the top score of all time. You know deep down that you will never beat that person. In fact the top scorer is probably made up so that you try harder and keep playing. You will never be that good and then if by some miracle you actually do make it, player im_so_awesome93 will still be there sitting ahead of you at the number one position.
So there you have it. That's my take on Facebook games.

Dear blog,
I am again very sorry I have neglected you in the past couple days. I had some business to attend to. Such as dipping into my chocolate supply and catching up with my friends one last time before I go back to school. Very important stuff.
This blog is going to be all about the Truth of the Week. Which is:
The importance of filtering your comments.
One of my friends just broke up with her boyfriend of four years. My instincts wanted to scream at her "I saw it coming." and "It was your first really long relationship, but you'll find someone else." But then my good friend filter kicked in and I just said, "I'll always be there for you."
You absolutely need a filter to keep from hurting peoples feelings. I don't think that its lying, its just telling them what they need to hear at the moment. I don't know about you, but I would rather keep the ones I love happy than hurt them if possible.
So that is my truth for this week. Kind of a deeper one. I'll try to think of some lighter-hearted ones for later. Or you guys could send me some. (*hint hint*)
